Birds Bookmarks

An excellent creator of stamped greeting cards, working as a designer for Sunday International and Faerie Song Art Stamps, is Sue Wisniewski. Here we are privileged to have this talented artist make three charming bookmarks using Posh designs. Sue brings out the boldness of Dee's designs very well by making each bird not the center of attention but the center of attraction! Each bookmark is different but they play so well together. Sue has used embossing powders that have always provided interesting effects, especially fascinating to the new stamper. Sue has done something inviting with these three examples that hopefully will inspire you to give them a try yourselves.

Directions and Tips to Get Sue's Best Results

FLAMINGO bookmark:

  1. Cut white cardstock 2 3/4” x 5 1/4”, black cardstock 3 x 5 1/2” and purple cardstock 3 1/4” x 5 3/4”.
  2. Stamp Flamingo image with VersaMark ink onto the white cardstock.
  3. Sprinkle gold & yellow embossing powders on the beak & head. Move to neck to sprinkle on red embossing powder. Sprinkle Wild Plum embossing powder on the feathers of the Flamingo. Last sprinkle black embossing powder on her legs.
  4. Heat set all embossing powders with Heat It craft tool. When you see the powders change from a dry powder to a glossy effect you are done embossing. It only takes a minute or two for this to happen.
  5. Layer Flamingo onto black & purple cardstocks with ATG tool.
  6. Add buttons to the bottom of bookmark with glue dots.
  7. Punch a 1/4” hole with hand held punch in the top of bookmark.
  8. Tie ribbon to finish
