Christmas Cards

Dee makes some complicated cards but here are three cards that are so very simple to make while they tickle anyone who is fortunate to receive one. She believes with some others that seasoned stampers are persuing more complicated stamping while there are fewer and fewer classes, books and DVDs for beginners who appreciate a helping hand. So here are three cards she made using almost only the Santa set with that one set providing still many more options and variations. Just for fun, Dee took the background for the reindeer and the pinecone from the White Christmas set but there are nearly infinite options from within that one EZ Mount set called Santa.

Though Blending Blox easily provide shading and color variation for increased interest and realism, to make it simple and straight forward she used only Marvy Brush Art Markers including her own signature set. But don't use these colors as you see them, use colors you prefer. The only blending done anywhere was done for the word Peace, the ferns and the reindeer's ribbon. Remember with pens to always apply lighter colors first. Dee stamped trees, reindeer and Santa on sticker paper, cut around them leaving a 1/16th inch white border (important) and put them over the previously stamped backgrounds. What could be easier, yet clean and attractive?

These cards get a lot of positive comments while making people smile, yet they are extremely easy to do. The set was done in the Vertical Inspiration style and all stamps are sized and proportioned to work together seamlessly.

*Products for making these will be available in the future.

Materials Needed

-
Cards are 100% the Santa EZ Mount set

- White double edged cards

- Marvy brush art markers that make it so easy to color directly onto the rubber before pressing the stamp to the paper.

- Sticker paper (choose opaque) can be used to place Santa over the background or stamp Santa first and then make a mask to keep him clean of ink as you stamp the background. Sticker paper is easiest.
