Directions
They are easy with her style of stamping.
That's the way she wants it for you.
First experiment on scratch paper to get preferred
colors and effects. Use quality cardstock such as
Kromecoat. Recycled paper that obsorbs all of your
colors are not recommended. Some say they can't get
the brilliant and exciting colors that Dee gets. It's
mostly due to cheap or recycled cardstock. Also, when
pressing stamp to paper, hold the stamp without rocking
or moving and count to 10. Let the ink adhere
and absorb.
- Stamp borders for inside of card first
- Then stamp backgrounds and borders of front
of card
- Choose feature images and stamp them on opaque
sticker paper. Use quality sticker papers. Do
not use cheap ones that are not completely opaque
or those that do not accept ink perfectly.
- Cut out feature images moving paper as you cut
rather than moving scissors. Leave a small amount
of white around the edges.
- Before removing sticky backing of sticker paper,
place and overlap some feature images where wanted.
Try different places and positions.
- Remove sticky backing by placing image where
wanted, remove only a corner to hold in place
and then carefully remove the rest smoothing with
hand.
- If you wish, touch up any errors with the pens
(Dee likes to use LePens for their smaller points
but if careful, your brush art markers will work
fine if they still have a point on them.) A White
Writer is excellent for covering up small errors
on white paper. For making many cards, stamp multiple
images on the sticker paper and cut out all at
once leaving the protective back on until ready
to use them. Dee and her staff do this and keep
the images organized in transparent sandwich bags.
