Three Ring Circle Album-Card

You say that you want a show stopper, an eye popper, a head slapper, something no-one ever forgets when they see or receive it. You'd like to give a card? You'd like to give an album? Well, here you have either of both in one! And what a special presentation for Valentines Day, Christmas, Mother's Day, Memorable birthday or even Halloween this would make!

Developed by a new company called Tinseltown Creations owned by Irene Kerley and Adrience Davalos, it features 3 pages made of hard chipboard. Each page measures a big
8 1/2 inches in diameter and has a slider that extends about 6 inches. As each page and slider have a front and back, there are 6 large round page surfaces and also 6 slideout surfaces ready for your artistic enthusiasm. Each slideout extending sleeve is made of transparent lucite.

Above you see two examples, both of them done by Dee. Nearly all stamps used were Posh Impressons. All stamps and the 3 Ring Circus card-album itself are available from www.IbrakeForStamps.com

The above example at left was given by Dee to long time friends at their recent 50th Anniversary party. At right is the Jungle album-card that Scrap & Stamp Arts magazine featured first in their January 2009 All Star Stamper Issue. The issue is a keeper. Get a copy here.

Notice where the slider extends out from the page about 6 inches. With the pink one you can kind of see where it extends (see the pink to the right) even though the Jungle album-card is on top of the extension. The Jungle album-card will open where you see the back of the zebra's neck. Note that the slider has a reverse side that will compliment the other side of the page. Also remember that there are 6 large page surfaces and 6 slider surfaces.

You can click and enlarge each of the 4 examples below for a better look. When the large round pages are open with sliders extended, as in the last example, it's an impressive sight spanning over 2 feet across.* We recommend that you send this page to friends so that they can at least see it. *Dee used an early version of card-album with black sleeves and not lucite.

Here is a 5 minute video that will show you just how Dee made this circle album with sliders so that you can make it too! It's not hard at all.

Instructions are for both album cards as they are made similarly

1. Plan your work to establish compatible and consistent backgrounds, colors and stamps before beginning. Think of your album card as a cohesive unit. The hard part, the core album-card, you will purchase so it is done for you. Each is hand made by the Tinseltown creators.

2. Stamp all designs and images on sticker paper. It's easiest and Sunday International's sticker paper is the best you can buy so that colors and images come out bright and crisp as seen above.

3. Place frames over and not under photos. Allow an arm, leg or some extension to go over or beyond the frame for interest and a 3D effect. If stamping on sticker paper, cut out image leaving 1/16 inch all around image for definition. It makes a big difference!

4. When attaching frames or stamped images that have been stamped on sticker paper, first place them in trial locations with backing still attached to see how items look together. Then remove a corner of the backing and attach that one corner. Finally, attach stamped image completely, smoothing it out with your hand as you sweep away from the corner.

5. Attach color coordinated ribbons to the 3 rings that attach the pages together. Card albums are purchased fully assembled with rings in place.

6. If mailing or presenting, we suggest placing it in a white box with corresponding colored ribbon on top.

For more complete directions that are lengthy, we recommend purchasing a copy of the All Star Issue Magazine as directions there take up 3 pages.

Or just enthusiastically jump in and make the pages YOUR way, using stamps and coloring agents that YOU like best. The directions above should ensure success.
